Artist statement
My artistic practice is centered on the juxtaposition of fragmented and unstable color-forms, creating interstitial tensions or surprisingly fluid interconnections. I approach imperfect color-forms as elements to develop a visual language through which I may articulate the complexities of human experience.Working from and towards these elements, I investigate how they intersect within a psycho-perceptual framework, illuminated by the subtle nuances of perception and emotion that color elicits.I intuitively experiment, embracing the impulsivity of expression and allowing the inherent energy of color to guide my creative journey. Each brushstroke and gesture is thus imbued with intention and meaning.I aim to create a space for reflection and contemplation where viewers can engage with the universal themes of belonging, connection, and emergent (as opposed to existing or natural) perception. Whether through bold, vibrant hues or subtle, muted tones, I invite audiences to explore the dynamic interplay between fragment and whole, and discover the profound sense of purpose that can be derived from transcending individual differences.
